IPU DELEGATION PAYS VISIT TO THE MISSION
Members of Parliament from Uganda, attending the 149th session of Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) on 16th October 2024, were today hosted by the Permanent Representative, Ambassador Tibaleka at the Mission. The delegation were briefed on pertinent issues of interest relating to their meetings.
The Deputy Permanent Representative, Ambassador Arthur Kafeero further briefed the delegation on a range of other issues including the bilateral and multilateral work of the Mission aimed to support the security, prosperity and well-being of Ugandans. He pointed to work done in support of diaspora initiatives and projects, responsibilities related to NAM, Human Rights, Refugees, WTO and Disarmament, the Health sector etc. Ambassador Kafeero informed the meeting of its proximity to MTIC, UTB and UWA to strengthen joint efforts in attracting Swiss Tourists to destination Uganda- a market that boasts being the largest travelling people in Europe with the 3rd highest GDP in the world.
