Ambassador's Message

H.E. Amb.  Robert Marcel Tibaleka

You are most welcome to the website of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Uganda to the United Nations and other International Organisations in Geneva.

The website addresses issues pertinent to our mission and mandate here in Geneva and we hope that you will find this site informative.

The Uganda Permanent Mission in Geneva handles critically impactful issues on Trade, Intellectual Property, Health, Immigration, IT, Human Rights and many others, all feeding into Uganda’s NDP III strategy on development.

With regard to trade and investment, the Mission is accelerating its engagement with relevant authorities in Uganda (UEPB, UIA and the Private Sector Foundation among others, to ensure that available export opportunities accorded to LDC’s are optimally utilized through our engagements in WTO; increase the actual volume of goods flowing into Switzerland and the realization of Foreign Direct Investment.

The Mission also continues to mobilize and coordinate with the Diaspora to harness opportunities for Trade, Investment and Tourism and linking these to the many bankable projects availed by government in conjunction with UIA.

Switzerland being a country with one of the highest global standards of living, a high propensity for its people to travel, considerable spending capacity and a great international attitude, the need to place every resource possible to bring this country at the helm of our tourism marketing strategy in Europe is imperative.

In this respect, the Mission is working with the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) and Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) to coordinate upcoming activities in Switzerland, including the highly rated International Tourism Exhibition held annually in Lugano, Switzerland.

We are confident that the increased visibility in Switzerland will translate into inbound tourism and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to Uganda, and the strengthening of people-to-people relations.

I wish you all the best!
