ELECTION OF MRS. JESSICA HOPE SSENGOOBA TO THE POSITION OF ASSISTANT SECRETARY GENERAL OF THE PAN AFRICAN POSTAL UNION

Mrs. Jessica Hope Ssengooba, Uganda's candidature for the position of Assistant Secretary General of the Pan African Postal Union was successfully elected for the term 2021-2025. The elections were held in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe from 21-25 June, 2021 at the 10th Ordinary Session of the Pan African Postal Union (PAPU) Plenipotentiary Conference.

Mrs. Ssengooba is currently serving as Manager Corporate & International Relations with the Uganda Post Limited trading as Posta Uganda, a position she has held since May, 2011. She has been part of the decision making discussions at the PAPU meetings as a representative of the Operator and is therefore abreast with the Organization's challenges and strategic opportunities. She also has strong technical and governance competences gained from her expansive experience in leadership positions in high level Postal Sector Forums. in addition, she has got wide knowledge of the needs and concerns of developing countries requiring support for postal services.

Mrs. Ssengooba contested against candidates from Burkina Faso and Niger.
