The Permanent Secretary and Secretary to the Treasury, Mr Ramathan Ggoobi met with the CEO of Sucafina SA, Mr Nicolas Tomari. Sucafina SA is one of the global leaders in coffee  exporters, sourcing from countries such as Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Ethiopia and Southern America countries including Brazil. He was accompanied by the Deputy Permanent Representative of the Uganda Mission at Geneva, Ambassador Arthur Kafeero. Sucafina is the parent company of Uganda Coffee (UGACOF).

Permanent Representative, Amb Tibaleka today received the Accountant -General, Mr Semakula and his delegation at the Mission. He thanked the delegation and the office of the Auditor General for their continued support and cooperation with the Mission. DPR Amb Kafeero briefed the delegation on the bilateral and multilateral work of the Mission, sighting the achievements and key challenges the Mission faces  in executing its mandate.

The Permanent Representative of the Uganda Mission in Geneva, H.E Ambassador Marcel Tibaleka today hosted more than 200 guests at the WIPO building in celebration of the Uganda's Independence Anniversary. Guests included Ambassadors, UN agency heads, private sectors delegations, members of Swiss Mission to the UN  and the diaspora. H.E treated the guests to a sumptuous Ugandan traditional cuisine; performances in cultural dances and products showcasing that included Uganda Waragi.

Hon Eng Hillary Onek today held a bilateral meeting with the US Deputy Ass Secretary, Bureau of Population, Refugees and Immigration, Ms Marta Constanzo Youth. The duo discussed issues of humanitarian response in support of refugees and their host communities in Uganda

Hon. Eng. Hillary Onek- Minister for Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees held a bilateral meeting with the High Commissioner for Refugees, Mr Filippo Grandi on the side lines of the 75th Excom here in Geneva. Mr Grandi will be visiting Uganda from 20-24 of October with an aim of highlighting the globally acclaimed generous position of Ugandas' refugee response.

Uganda is currently host to 1.76m refugees, the highest in Africa.
