AMBASSADOR KAFEERO DELIVERS STATEMENT ON BEHALF OF NAM
Amb. Arthur Kafeero, DPR delivered a statement on behalf of NAM at the 55HRC on agenda item 2 calling for the respect of the universality, indivisibility and non selectivity principle of human rights. He also called for immediate cease fire in Gaza.
AMBASSADOR BILAL AHMAD OF PAKISTAN PAYS COUTESY CALL TO THE MISSION
The Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN and Disarmament Affairs, Ambassador Bilal Ahmad paid a courtesy call to PR, Ambassador Tibaleka at the Mission. The two discussed issues of common interest to NAM member states. The duo also discussed matters on the preparation for the first session of the 2024 Group of Government Experts on Lethal Autonomous Weapons under the Convention of Certain Conventional Weapons scheduled for 4-8 March 2024.

Today, Deputy Permanent Representative, Ambassador Arthur Kafeero presented Uganda's statement at the Human Rights Council on the Sudan conflict. He called for an immediate ceasefire and urged the parties to engage in dialogue.

Today, Uganda's Permanent Representative to Switzerland, Ambassador Marcel R. Tibaleka paid a courtesy call to the Deputy High Commissioner of Human Rights, Ms. Nada Al- Nashifin Geneva. The discussions centred around issues of mutual interest as Uganda takes up the chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement. The Permanent Representative was accompanied by the Deputy Permanent Representative, Ambassador Arthur Kafeero and Ms Mary Namono Kibera, Counselor and the Missions expert on Human Rights.
